Mr. Ridge focuses on the identification of loss portfolio acquisition targets, analysis and structuring of LPT solutions and the efficient runoff of acquired legacy claim portfolios.

Mr. Ridge has extensive experience in advising corporate self-insureds and owners of captive insurance companies. He joined ACG in 2009 after having previously headed the captive management and consulting operations of multiple organizations including a law firm, a large Fortune 100 insurer, an insurance broker and a regional captive manager. Ridge has also practiced law exclusively in the field of alternative risk financing. In addition to forming and operating captives and risk retention groups, he has also overseen the orderly dissolution and runoff of distressed and insolvent captive insurers under the supervision of domicile regulatory authorities.

Mr. Ridge enjoys a unique industry perspective gained through his work with captives throughout their full life-cycle. Ridge’s expertise lies in insurance run-off and legacy claim resolution, captive feasibility analysis, structural design, licensure, regulatory compliance, reinsurance/fronting placement, claims management and the on-going operation of captive insurance companies, risk retention groups, purchasing groups and other self-insurance mechanisms. He has formed, managed and served on the Board of dozens of captive insurers, both onshore and offshore, and brings over twenty years of industry experience to ACG and its clients.

Based in ACG’s South Carolina office, Ridge works to help captives and corporate self-insureds release collateral and surplus (profit) trapped within their insurance programs through resolution or divestiture of legacy claim portfolios.  He provides advice and consultation to captives and other alternative risk vehicles with respect to balance sheet and cash-flow enhancement, operational growth, exit strategies, mergers & acquisitions and captive closures. Ridge is a licensed attorney and frequent speaker at various captive insurance industry conferences and seminars.
